PEPPERDINE (Whitty), Lillian Winfred

-

Age 67 of Enfield. We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our Nanny, Lillian Winfred Pepperdine (Whitty) on January 7, 2021. Nanny passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Our nanny, Lillian was born on February 13, 1953 and was a daughter of the late George and Gertrude (Hines) Whitty. Nanny’s dream in life was to get married and become a mother. This dream began on February 26, 1972 when she married our Pa, Glen Pepperdine. Nanny and Pa went on to have three children, Todd (Tina) Pepperdine, Tracy (Chris) Dempsey, and Colleen (Nick) Dempsey. Nanny had found her calling when she became a mother and "did not realize how much love her heart could hold until someone called her nanny". She became a nanny on July 6, 2002 to her first grandson, Caleb. Her heart continued to grow as she welcomed Kaden, her Christmas baby, Adalyn, her bottle of sunshine; and Parker and Daiva, her littles who brought so much joy to her life. Nanny touched the hearts of many, showing others what love truly is. She loved life, caring for those around her and just made the world a more beautiful place to be. Lillian will be missed by her sister, Cathy (Basil) Favaro; brothers, Doug ( Judy) Whitty, Maurice Whitty, Bert ( Helen Boutilier) Whitty, Joe Whitty; sisters-in-law, Flora Anne Whitty and Ivetta Whitty; brother-in-law Tom Donovan as well as many much-loved nieces and nephews that held a special place in her heart. She will also be missed by her many lifelong friends and her Daydreams family. While we are saddened to let her go too soon, we are comforted knowing she is being welcomed by loved ones who have gone before her: her parents, George and Gertrude; brothers, Freeman, Everett, Dennis and Barry; sisters, Agnes and Theresa; sisters-in-law, Violet and Sandra; nephews, Blair, Frank, Joseph and Thomas; special friend Heather. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. There will be no visitation. A private funeral service will be held at a later date. Donations in Lillian’s memory may be made to MakeA-wish Atlantic Provinces. Tributes, words of comfort and memories of Lillian may be shared with the family at: www.ettingerfuneralhome.com Nanny, we know what love is because of you, miss you forever and always. Love: Pa, Todd, Tracy, Colleen, Caleb, Kaden, Adalyn, Parker and Daiva xo
