FRIZZLE, Claire Rita

-

Age 80, of Hantsport, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 26, 2021. Born in Ottawa, she was a daughter of the late Aldege "Blackie" and Helen (Hoff) Derouin. Mom moved to Hantsport at the age of seven and had to learn to speak English, which she said was a challenging task. In her youth, she excelled in swimming and held many Provincial records. Mom developed many lifelong friends whom she regularly kept in touch with, you all know who you are. Once Brian and I grew to be able to somewhat look after ourselves, Mom began volunteering at Hants Community Hospital. She did this for 25 years, something she truly enjoyed and took great pride in helping the patients. Mom is survived by her daughter, Susan (Steven) Sypher; son, Brian; and her beloved and love of her life, her granddaughter, Jessica; sisters, Denise Coffin, June Lyghtle, Carole ( Sandy) Mills and Suzanne Jardine; sister-in-law, Joan (Ron) Dion and brother- in- law, Don ( Diana) Frizzle; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Bev; and sisters, Rita and Pierrette; her companion, Dale Hiltz. We would like to thank Tammy Redden and Pat Thomas for their continuous care, support and love shown to Mom over the past year. Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A public graveside service will be announced at a later date and will be held in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport. Donations in Claire’s memory may be made to Hantsport and Area Community Food Bank Society, 3 Oak St., PO Box 728, Hantsport, NS B0P 1P0.
