GOODRICK, George Jr.

-

Age 54, of Lawrencetown, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2021 at home, surrounded by his loving family after living with cancer for the last two years. He was the son of Maryanne and the late George Goodrick Sr., born on May 15, 1966 in Woodstock, Ont. George attended Prince Andrew High School in Dartmouth and started working at the family business at a young age. He was a master of all trades and quick learner who knew how to think outside the box. He worked hard under the guidance of his parents learning the trade and successfully growing the business. George eventually became president, and owner/operator of Adventure Sports RV. He was also the proud recipient of the Walter Paseska Memorial Canadian RV Dealer of the Year Award in 2016 which is presented to the Canadian RV Dealer who best exemplifies the professionalism and community spirit of RV dealers throughout the country. He was a proud member of the community and was actively involved in his girls’ sports and other activities over the years. From softball and soccer coach, Beaver leader, cheer dad, and more recently team manager for Ringette Nova Scotia. No matter his involvement, George remained a leader and role model for not only his girls but for all his "kids", from family to friends to teammates. He loved his family more than anything else in the world and always put them above everything else. Anyone who knew him, knew just how much. George never stopped talking about his family and always took the opportunity to brag about his girls; not just one or two of them, but all of them. The enormous amount of love and respect he showed toward Ruth Ann, who was the love of his life, soulmate and very best friend, was evident to everyone who knew them. George is survived by his wife Ruth Ann (Chittick) Goodrick; and daughters, Samantha (Chris), Danielle, Trisha, Jadyn and Georgia; sisters, Michelle ( Steve) Smith, Jackie (Darren) Mackay, Patti (Rod) Smith, Christine (Aaron) Bell; mother- in-law, Margaret Chittick; sister- in- law, Lori (Todd) Metzler; brothers-in-law, Michael ( Mari) Chittick and Tommy ( Kim) Chittick; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, George Goodrick Sr.; and fatherin-law, Donald Chittick. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no visitation and the funeral service and burial will be limited to his immediate family. The funeral service will be available by livestream on Wednesday, March 3rd at 11 am. To view, please visit George’s memorial page on the Atlantic Funeral Homes (Dartmouth) website. A celebration of life will be held once COVID-19 restrictions allow with details to be released at a later date. The family requests family flowers only, and donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia in George’s memory. Ruth Ann, Samantha, Danielle, Trisha, Jadyn, Georgia and the rest of the Goodrick/chittick family would like to thank everyone for their overwhelming love and support at this difficult time.
