Age 64, went to sleep peacefully in the arms of his daughter and family, on February 24, 2021 in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in North Preston, he was the son of Volda Smith-Beals and the late Edmund Beals Sr. Carl is survived by his daughters, Tamara, Kyra, Kynia (special daughter) of Ontario; Miranda of Wolfville; Tiara, Pauline of Dartmouth; sons, Rentel and Jason (Clorisa) of North Preston; long-time partner, Annette; 12 grandchild­ren; brothers, Edmund Jr. (Carol), Keith of North Preston; Drew (Jessica) of Ontario; sisters, Thelma, Leona of North Preston; Loretta (Michael) of Ontario; Elizabeth of Windsor; godparents, Evelyn Dixon, and the late Carl Johnson. He was predecease­d by his son, Terrence; brother, Steve; sister, Victoria; paternal grandparen­ts, the late Henry and Dora Beals; maternal grandparen­ts, the late William and Eliza Smith. He was self-employed for many years as a mechanic. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. Arrangemen­ts have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home 771, Main St., Dartmouth. Due to COVID-19 restrictio­ns, there will be no church service at this time. A private burial service will take place on March 5th in Saint Thomas Baptist Church Cemetery at 1 p.m., Upper Governor Road, North Preston, Rev. Wallace Smith Sr. officiatin­g.
