It is with great sadness that the family of Michelle Lynn Mcleod, 58, of Cherry Hill announces her passing on Monday, July 12, 2021, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewate­r. Born in Leamington, Ont., she was the daughter of Carolyn (Conrad) Walsh of First South and the late Ronald Mcleod. Michelle’s working career started at the Sail Loft in Second Peninsula and she then went on to work at North Sails and the Dory Shop in Lunenburg. Michelle had a quick witted, firecracke­r personalit­y but enjoyed the simple things in life. She found the greatest pleasures in times spent with family and friends, enjoyed being outdoors in nature, gardening, bird watching, sewing, painting, and writing poetry. Even though her life was cut short, she touched the lives of many and will continue to live on in our memories. Besides her mother, Carolyn, Michelle is survived by her son, Colton (Jeff Pelkey), Bayport; companion, Ted Higney; sisters, Wendy Mersey (Ed), Rose Bay; Stephanie Kjelland (Todd), Rose Bay; Kim Mcalpine (Marcello), Niagara Falls, Ont.; Patricia Mcleod, Bridgewate­r; brothers, Steven Mcleod, Mount Uniacke; Ron Jr. Mcleod (Patsy), St. Paul, N.B.; Michael Mcleod, St. Antoine, N.B.; Ted’s children, Ted and Tessa; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Besides her father, Michelle was predecease­d by her stepfather, Basil Walsh. Funeral arrangemen­ts are under the direction of Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. 3, Lunenburg and from where a memorial service to celebrate Michelle’s life will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m., Rev. Rick Pryce, officiatin­g. COVID-19 restrictio­ns to apply: seating inside the funeral home is limited for family up to 60 people and those friends in attendance may listen to the service outside.
