FARRELL (Hanrahan), Irene Sears

1937- 2021. It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Irene at her home with family on Wednesday, July 7th at the age of 83 years. Loving wife of the late Kent Farrell (Deceased January 5, 2019). Devoted mother of Gail, the late Stephen (2019), and Scott (Amanda). Cherished grandmother of Autumn, Olivia, and Ethan. Born in Antigonish, daughter of Elizabeth “Girlie” Hanrahan, and Sylvester Hanrahan, Irene touched many lives with her generosity and welcoming nature. Irene was passionate about the cottage, beach, and sports including basketball (had been captain of her high school team, and big Raptors fan), tennis, and hockey. Most of all, Irene loved her family, both immediate and extended. Often described by others as a bright light and a force of nature, Irene drew people to her wherever she went. Irene will be deeply missed by her cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
