LITTLE, Dolores Mary

-

Surrounded by her family, Dolores Mary Little passed away on July 11, 2021 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro at almost 87 years of age. Dolores was born in Halifax on July 22, 1934 to Norman Floyd Eisan and Lillian Ellen Spears. She was the devoted wife and road trip companion of Bernard William Little for almost 59 years until his death in 2017. Dolores was also a loving mother to Susan (Edward Javinsky), Kevin (Cheryl Ellis), and Michael (Gia Klironomos). It was our good fortune to have her as our mother. Dolores loved spending time with her grandchildren, Matthew Little, Tori-rose Javinsky, Benjamin Javinsky, Nicholas Little, Alexander Little, and Lillian Little and she enjoyed being foster grandmother to Renae Watters. She is survived by sisters, Heather Cutten (Mark), Rosalee Dyer (William), as well as many nephews and nieces. She is also survived by step grandchildren, Trevor Cloney (Lisa), Chris Cloney (Kellie), and Cloney step great-grandchildren, Julia, Ella, Charlie, Owen, and Amy. She was predeceased by her siblings, Marjorie Garrison (Cecil), Floyd Eisan (Harriet Jenkins), Karen West (Willie), and Joanne Eisan. Bernie and Dolores ran the B&D Little convenience store in Debert for many years before they retired to live in Ottawa with their daughter’s family in 2001. But you couldn’t keep them away from Nova Scotia. In 2015, they returned to the province they loved to live in Truro. With their young children in the back seat, Dolores saw almost every drivable road in Nova Scotia with Bernie behind the wheel. It is for this reason that none of us can get lost in Nova Scotia for longer than a few minutes. We know our dad is in the driver’s seat right now, reexploring some favorite area of the province in search of another yard sale, with our mom dutifully napping beside him. May her memory be a blessing. We wish to thank the doctors and nursing team at Colchester East Hants Health Centre Palliative Care unit who cared for Dolores so compassionately. We are especially grateful to the nursing team for their kindness to us and our mother. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall-Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young St., Truro, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, August 2nd, Jane Magrath officiating.
