HUNTLEY, Jack

-

Beloved father, brother, and grandfather and 31-year CAW member Jack Huntley passed away March 28, 2021 in Mississauga, Ont., after a short but courageous fight against cancer. His ashes were spread in the mountains of Alberta by his daughter on July 19th, so he can rest in the place he called the most beautiful. The youngest child of Averett Maxwell Huntley and Kathleen Edith Huntley (Parker), Jack moved away from his birthplace of Tenecape when he was 10 years old and settled in the New Toronto area. Despite being so far away, Jack loved his home Down East and also loved his quiet life in Mississauga, where he raised his family. A lover of horse races, Poodles, French fries, and family, Jack played hockey, baseball, and football in his youth and was the youngest supervisor ever at Anaconda Brass in Etobicoke. He cared for his ill wife Linda until her death in 2000, and raised two children - Teri and Nick. Though quiet with a reputation for keeping to himself, Jack could be a bull dog on any matters of unfairness in the workplace. A kind, compassionate, funny, smart man, Jack had a way with children and so his family deeply mourns the loss of the loving and fun grandfather Jack was always destined to be. Jack was predeceased by his father and mother; sister, Dora; and wife, Linda; and he will be dearly missed by his daughter, Teri and son, Nick; his son-in-law, Kevin and daughter-in-law, Ashley; his sister-in-law and brotherin-law, Shirley and Garfield and family; his brother, Averett; his sister, Phyllis; and his grandchildren, Naomi, Jordyn, Bella, and Amber. His final wish was for everyone to “have a day off on him” with no tears or funerals. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to Canadian Cancer Society. http://support.cancer.ca/goto/jack_huntley
