SOMES, Bernard Gregg
September 27, 1964 – July 9, 2021, passed away surrounded by love with his life partner Deanna and his caregivers in Dartmouth General Hospital at the age of 56. He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Sarah Lynn Harrick (Darin); and his son, Julian Ulysses Louis. Gregg was the youngest of four children and will be lovingly remembered by his sisters, Glenna Dawn (Edgar), Marina Gail; and brother, Roderick James (Diane). He was predeceased by his parents, Bernard James and Jean Audrey (Penney). Gregg raised his daughter Sarah, born in 1992, as a single father and was seen with her wherever he went. Gregg moved to Liverpool in 1996 where he had son Julian with his then partner, Janette in 1998. He was very proud of his “Little Man” JULS who in time became a very gifted musician. He relocated to Portland, Ore. with his daughter in 2003 and spent many years as a long-haul truck driver often spending time with stray cats that he lovingly “adopted” along the way. He returned to Dartmouth in 2014 to be with his lifelong love Deanna (Lolly) and to continue his career as a longhaul truck driver. Gregg prided himself for never being late for a pickup, and if ever lost, three left turns would always get him back on the highway which was his metaphor for life. In memory of Gregg donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the SPCA.
