L’heureux invited to national jr. camp

Halifax Mooseheads forward Zachary L’heureux was among 51 players invited Wednesday to Canada’s national junior team summer development camp.

The 18-year-old winger, a projected firstround pick in this weekend’s NHL Entry Draft, collected 39 points in 33 games with Halifax this past season.

Mooseheads winger Elliot Desnoyers was also invited to the camp but will not attend.

Five goalies, 16 defencemen and 30 forwards will take part in the eight-day camp, July 28 to Aug. 4 at the Seven Chiefs Sportsplex on the Tsuut’ina Nation near Calgary. The roster includes five players who won a silver medal at the 2021 IIHF world junior championship.

The 2022 IIHF world junior championship will be held in Edmonton and Red Deer from Dec. 26 to Jan. 5.
