ARCHIBALD, Harleigh Lynfield


Age 91, of Windsor, passed away

after a brief illness on July 10, 2021, in the VG Site QEII hospital.

Harleigh was born in Wentworth Creek

on March 23, 1930 to the late Clarence and

Katherine ( Caldwell) Archibald. He married the love of his life, Nellie Mae

( Hines) in 1949 and proudly served with the 48th Highlander­s of Canada in Ger

many and during the Korean War. Following his service,

he worked as a crane operator throughout the country, for over 40 years. He and

Nell were longtime residents of Sweets Corner, where he was affectiona­tely referred to as The Mayor by many residents of that close knit

community. He will be forever remembered for his sharp wit, his cheerful nature, and his many stories.

Sadly, he was predecease­d by his wife, Nellie Mae; brother, Graham; daughter, Judith (Brown); and grandson, Joseph. Harleigh will be sorely missed by his sons, Wayne ( Kathryn), Stephen, and Jeffrey; son-in-law,

Garry; daughter- in- law, Florene; grandchild­ren, Kirby, Julie, Jefferson, Liza, Jamie,

Bobbyee, Matthew and Christophe­r; and his many great- grandchild­ren. A private family internment will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the National
