One dead, one injured in Italy Cross crash

One person is dead and another was flown to hospital in critical condition after what RCMP say was a multivehicle collision on Highway 103 in Italy Cross.

In a news release Thursday night, Lunenburg District RCMP said the collision, between exits 14 and 15, was reported to them at 3:40 p.m.

Police said that EHS and fire departments also responded to the accident.

The injured person was taken to hospital by Lifeflight helicopter.

The highway was closed in both directions as a collision reconstructionist worked at the scene, but the road was expected to have reopened by about midnight.
