It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lloyd Henry Steinacker, age 84, Lake Loon, on July 23, 2021. Lloyd was a beloved husband, father, grandfathe­r, and great-grandfathe­r who cared deeply for his family and friends. He was pre-deceased by his parents, William H. Steinacker, and Charlotte “Lottie” Steinacker (Hallam). Lloyd served in the Royal Canadian Navy as a cook from 1969 until he retired in 1974. He was a longtime member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 31 and enjoyed playing cribbage every Saturday afternoon and participat­ing in tournament­s. Later in life, Lloyd enjoyed the simpler things like faithfully doing his crossword puzzles while having his cup of tea or watching football and he cherished his time at home with loved ones. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Annette (Sparks) Steinacker; children, Gill A. Steinacker (Carla Sparks), Lake Loon, Douglas E. Steinacker (Cynthia), Plano, Texas; Darlene Y. English (Larry), Plano, Texas; and Lori-ann L. Steinacker, Lake Loon; his grandchild­ren, Peggy Jean, Carlos, Andrea, Erica, Beverly, Johnathan, Christophe­r, Ashley, Brandi, and Brittany Ann English (predecease­d granddaugh­ter), and Jordan along with 14 great-grandchild­ren; and godchildre­n, Collette Larose, Wendy Downey, Charlotte Colley. A small service will be held in Cherry Brook United Baptist Church, Cherry Brook on Thursday, July 29th at 2 p.m., Rev. Wayne Desmond officiatin­g. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or Canadian Cancer Society. The family would like to extend its sincere thanks to Somme Legion Branch 31 for their continued assistance and support throughout a difficult time and for the care and compassion of the nurses and staff on 4 East of Dartmouth General Hospital.
