Age 81, Truro, passed away on Saturday morning, July 15, 2021. Born in Hodgdon, Maine, USA on June 8, 1940, he was a son of the late C. Lloyd and Laversa (Wright) Crawford. Sherwood graduated from the Technical University of Nova Scotia in 1964 and was a practicing engineer for over 50 years. He started his career in Ontario, then returned to Nova Scotia where he started Eastern Canadian Structures Ltd. (a constructi­on company) in 1974. He sold his business and retired in 2020. In his spare time, he enjoyed farming and traveling. Sherwood is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Karen Elizabeth (Fletcher); brothers, Gordon (Mary), Scotch Village; Archie (Sarah), Woodstock, N.B.; and Charles (Susan), Woodstock, N.B.; sisters, Carolyn (Tom) Munroe, Nackawic, N.B.; and Loretta (Larry) Bell, Belleville, N.B.; sons, Thomas Crawford, East Mines; and Jeffrey (Sue Ann and son Cole) Crawford, Bass River; and daughter, Tamara Crawford, Truro; as well as special family member, Kathy. Besides his parents, Sherwood was predecease­d by brothers, Robert, James, Allison and Paul. If desired, donations may be made to Canadian Red Cross or charity of choice. Arrangemen­ts have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 4th at 2 p.m. in Economy Cemetery, 1783 Trunk 2, Economy, with Pastor David Way officiatin­g. All are welcome.
