BLACKBURN, Peter Cornect

-

Peter died September 4, 2021 of a heart attack at his home in Sarasota, Fla., with his wife Colleen by his side. Peter was 63. He was born in Halifax, and brought up in Fairview and spent most of his adult life in Timberlea. His first job was working with his father, the owner of Dave’s Bottle Exchange on Charles Street in Halifax. Many years later he branched out on his own. Peter owned and operated the Timberlea tavern and Richie’s Bar and Restaurant in Bedford. Peter received a liver transplant at 40, and spent the next years traveling between his Florida condo and his Timberlea home. Peter and Colleen had just celebrated their anniversary in Ireland which they loved. Peter was a force to be reckoned with, a laugh you won’t forget, and had an irreverent sense of humor, he made friends and kept them all his life. He was very proud to learn of his First Nations heritage later in life. Peter leaves to miss him, his wife and best friend, Colleen, and her family, and his beloved dog; his mother, Flora Blackburn; sister, Sylvia (Mickey); brothers, David (Trudy), Philip (Marilyn), Richard (Janet) and their families; his daughters, Meaghan and Jody and their families. He was predeceased by infant son, Mathew; and father, Ed Blackburn. Cremation has taken place and he will be buried in Sarasota, Fla., there will be no Nova Scotia services. If you wish, a donation to The IWK Health Centre Foundation, Halifax would be appreciated.

Finally, rest in peace little brother.
