COX (Gray), Sharon Lee

-

Age 79. With broken hearts we are sharing that Sharon Cox (Gray) passed away peacefully on November 16, 2021 with her three children by her side. Born and raised in Halifax, she was a teenager when she met the love of her life Don – a sailor from Ontario (the sailors her father told her to stay away from). Married a couple of years later, Sharon and Don welcomed three children and their love story continued for 53 years until Don’s passing in 2013. Sharon spent her career as a Data Entry Clerk for Cunard’s until she retired after 25 plus years. Sharon and Don spent many years in the Scotia Scampers Camping Club until they became seasonal campers at Webber’s Campground where they made countless lifelong friends. We will hold the memories made at site A08 in our hearts forever. Sharon was the daughter of the late Ernest and Alice Gray and sister to Maralyn (Clair) Roode of Molega Lake, and Terry (Theo) Gray of Carring Place, Ont. Family was everything to Sharon and she often said she had the best. Sharon leaves behind her children, Paula Buchanan, Donnie (Leticia Legere) Cox, and Kelly-ann (Paul) Arseneau, all of Sackville. She was the grandmother to Alicia (Joseph), Jordan, Kaleigh (Justin), Joshua (Stephanie), Chelsea (Todd), and Courtney (Jesse). Most recently she held her favourite title “Gran Nan” to her greatgrandchildren, Londyn, Berkley, Aria, Amelia, Naslund, and Tharon. She was predeceased by her husband, Don; and her brother, Darrell. Sharon was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, and friend. She was the glue that held us together, the matriarch of our family, and her memory will live on in all of us forever. She was ready to be reunited with the love of her life and we’re sure he was there with open arms waiting for her. We hope they’re celebrating! A celebration of life will be held on December 28th, at 1 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home in Lower Sackville. In accordance with current COVID-19 pandemic regulations, masks are required to be worn and proof of double vaccinations along with identification are mandatory for attendance. Livestream will be available at: http://www.livememorialservices.com/home/servicedetail/18446 Donations can be made to The Lung Association Nova Scotia. In Sharon’s memory we ask that you make someone laugh. She had an amazing sense of humour, her wit and one-liners made us laugh right up until she closed her eyes for the last time. It’s not goodbye, it’s, see you later. xo
