MITCHELL (Walton), Ann Marie

-

July 13, 1940 November 8, 2021. Age 81. It is with sad hearts that we say goodbye to such an amazing woman. Smart, funny, strong, caring, compassionate, supportive, patient and beautiful. She was a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother. Psychologist, Teacher, Doctor, Dietician, Bookkeeper, Financial Advisor, Spiritual Guide, Mediator, Peacekeeper, Friend, Chauffeur, Head Chef, Baker, Seamstress, Interior Designer, Party Planner, Bridge Player and Babysitter extraordinaire. All that encompasses being a mother. She devoted her life to her family. Born and raised Toronto, Ont. (Grace Walton) While working as a secretary for Sunlife Canada she met the love of her life James William Mitchell (19311999) who swept her completely off her feet. Soon thereafter they made the move to Nova Scotia. Her introduction to Nova Scotia was a seven-week honeymoon two miles back in the woods of Canso during hunting season. Every year around their anniversary she would recall the wonderful times during those weeks. They are together again. She survived a massive stoke in 2013. Shortly after she made the move to Meaghers Grant to recover. She enjoyed the country life, there was never a dull moment on the farm. There was always something going on that kept her entertained. She was never alone. We wouldn’t be the people we are today without the love and support given to us by this wonderful woman. We were the last of the generation to have our mothers at home. To come in when the streetlights came on. To supper at the dinner table every night to talk about our day as a family. She was the glue. The bond that kept us all together. There is so much more to her than an obituary can cover. She was loved by everyone who knew her. She will be tremendously missed. She is survived by her children. Sarah Mitchell, Mary Mitchell (Sorra), Ken Mitchell and Alida and James Mitchell and Heather Miklovich; her grandchildren, Brooke Sorra, Erin Sorra, Mackenzie Mitchell and Finnegan Mitchell; her great-grandchildren, Laken, Myah and Bentley Sorra and Olivia Brown.
