JORDAN (Wootten), Georgia Ann

-

A proud and independent woman, left this earth as she had so desired, simply, on Monday, February 28, 2022, in Toronto, Ont., five days after turning 92. Born February 23, 1930, in Detroit, Mich., to George and Lillian Wootten she had a strong connection to her East Coast roots where she returned to live for much of her life after her husband David passed in 1979. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Ann (Gary), Christopher (Gabrielle), Andrew and Margot (Christopher); and her eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Georgia was predeceased by her beloved siblings, Beverley, George and Ken. Through the years she maintained a strong and close relationship with their families sharing many long lasting memories. A woman of faith, that was extended to her by the nuns at the Sacred Heart School of Halifax, she always stayed close to God. Her love for tennis allowed her to play well into her 80’s at The Waegwoltic Club and enjoy life with a group of close friends that made up the doubles teams, book club and lunch group. She was able to travel the world to the places she wanted to see, be it her homeland of Ireland, Europe or just south for rest and relaxation. For the last eight years, Georgia lived in Toronto, Ont., to be closer to her children. This allowed her to be able to spend more time with them and their families and brought her a great deal of joy and peace. The family welcomes donations to the Sacred Heart School of Halifax Bursary Fund as an expression of sympathy.
