AVERY, Margaret Garnet

-

Age 88 of Larry's River passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, in Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough. Garnet was born January, 22, 1934, to her departed parents, Lawrence and Mary Alice (Avery) Pelrine. Nan always had the best stories from her years growing up, she never tired of telling her life stories and we loved to hear them. Community stories and church events were important to her; she loved to attend mass, faithful to her prayers, but also enjoyed working and meeting people at community functions. Garnet was a sports fan, watching sports on TV or at a ball field near or far to watch her loved children and grandchildren play and enjoyed Ashley's dance recitals as well. She never was a curler but gave advice from her chair to let Jennifer Jones know how to play, she enjoyed watching a Homan and Gushue win. Her favorite hockey team was Montreal Canadiens. Cooking and baking always produced perfect biscuits, freshly made rolls and a delicious bowl of Garden Soup were fit for a king. We should also mention corned beef, baked spaghetti, Chinese rice and baked haddock with stuffing. Quilting, knitting, organized vegetable gardens and her healthy flower gardens always were creations of beauty. We have many memories, the smell of fresh rolls coming out of the oven, love of music, beautiful smiles and a welcoming nature, these will never be forgotten.
