DONDALE, George Noble

-

Aged 89, of Lequille, passed away peacefully at home on May 3, 2022. Born in Upper Clements, he was a son of the late Noble Ray and Idella Angelina (Cassidy) Dondale. Dad worked for the Department of Transportation operating heavy equipment from a young age until his retirement in 1987 after 31 years. When Dad was on the snowplow, everyone knew the roads would be cleared and they always knew it was him driving as you couldn’t see for the cloud of snow! Never one to sit still, Dad always had a project on the go, whether it was milling lathe for lobster traps in the old days or working in the woods with his skidder and hauling it out with his cherry picker, to tapping trees for maple syrup right up until the last season. Dad was one of those “good ole boys” who was well known in the community and the door was always open to anyone who wanted to pop by for a chat. Oh the stories! Dad is survived by his brother, Dr. Charles Dondale from Ontario; and his daughters, Susan, Annapolis; and Lisa, Middle Sackville; as well as granddaughters, Melissa Dondale, Angela Longmire, and Kathryn Wallace; and great-grandchildren, Jaiden, Gavin and Tamara. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Janice (Frost); son, George Raymond; sisters, Florence (Smith) Robar, Kathleen (Smith) Woodbury, Mildred (Dondale) Woodland, Betty (Dondale) Rushton, and Lorraine (Dondale) Saulnier; brothers, Warren, Karl, Philip; and granddaughter, Christine Woodland. There will be no visitation or service as per his wishes. Cremation has taken place and arrangements are under direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home. A short graveside service will be held at the North Kingston Cemetery 11 a.m. Sunday May 8th. Donations made in memory can be sent to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society.
