SNOW, Matthew

-

It is with very heavy hearts that we announce that Matthew Snow, of Timberlea, suddenly passed away on May 6, 2022, at the age of 38. Matthew was a very proud father to his only daughter, Haidyn, and all of her accomplishments at such a young age. She was his light. He was a man of many talents who was very artistically and creatively driven. As a child, Matthew could often be found sketching or drawing. It was a passion that ultimately grew into a long, fulfilling career in the barber industry. Matthew graduated from Sir John A. Macdonald in 2002, and later the Hair Design Centre in 2006. In 2010, alongside partners Buddy, Nathan and Matthew built a business at Define Hair Studio on Quinpool Road. Matthew has built his reputation as one of the most elite barbers in the city. He cultivated a strong brotherhood amongst the Define team, and his one of a kind spirit will truly be missed in the shop, by his peers and clients. Matthew enjoyed a good game of cards with the family, where his playful and competitive side would shine. And when he won, boy would you hear about it! His laughter will surely be missed around the table. Matthew always had a love for the outdoors, spending time at the family cottage, the water, cars and for animals - and they loved him too. He especially loved his three cats. He is predeceased by grandparents Sandra Dorey (Evans), Flora Snowe (Bungay) and Harold Snowe. He will be deeply missed by his daughter Haidyn Davissnow, and her mother Myra Davis; his mothers Alanna (Evans) and Lisa Scott; father Alexander Snow (Joann); sister Alexandra Powell (Brad); niece Sydney; step-brother, James Connolly (Kim); grandfather Earl Evans; grandparents Rose and Tom Scott; sister-in-law Bronwen Davis (Robert); nephews River and Tosh, father-in-law Steve Davis; many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends will also be mourning the loss of Matthew. Cremation has taken place. A visitation for Matthew will be held Thursday, May 12th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, NS. A memorial service will be held Friday, May 13th at 10:00 a.m. at JA Snow Funeral Home. The memorial service will also be available to view online by visiting the funeral home website.
