COLICCHIO, Mario Italo

Colicchio, Mario Italo, age 86, of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2022, at home, just as he wanted. Mario immigrated from Italy in 1953 with just pennies in his pocket. Over the years, he held many jobs and excelled at them all. He eventually became a successful entrepreneur, co-founding Metrographic Printing and later, opening a restaurant in Sheet Harbour, Audreys Country kitchen where he was wellknown for his pizza and lively conversation. He enjoyed walking and golfing with his buddies, although in recent years, he was unable to due to health issues. He still enjoyed cooking and loved engaging in a great conversation and always had advice to give whether you wanted it or not. He was also the king of “making deals”! Mario loved to travel, and spent many winters in Florida and took numerous cruises where he was always the life of the party. Even though he had many health challenges, he rarely complained and he never gave up. Mario is survived by his wife of 27 years, Susie (Demond); children, Frank (Paula), Angie (Mike), Angela (Phillip), Kim (Bob), Audrey (Tony); stepchildren, Melissa (Shawn), Angela (Bob), Vance (Billie Jean); 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Peter, Joe, Paul (Carol), Vince (Rosaria); Brother-inlaw Carmen Nufrio, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, previous wife Audrey (Westhaver), and just recently, his sister, Angela Nufrio. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Sunday May 15th in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. The funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. on Monday May 16th in the Funeral home chapel. Burial in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens with a reception to follow in the funeral home reception lounge.
