ARCHIBALD (Mackay), Joyce Elaine

-

We lost our mom on May 9, 2022. We were blessed to have had her until she was 92 years old, and we find comfort in the fact that she had a long, happy life - one that started in Pinehurst in 1929 and where she lived her early years. She married our dad, Hector, in 1950 and she was from that point on obsessed with dogs and family, and along with our dad she rescued and loved many dogs over the years - a love they passed on to all of us. She worked until age 65 and then stayed home with her husband and their four dogs until his passing in 2001. We're heartbroken but grateful for the happy, wholesome life she lived. She's lucky enough to be survived by all of her children and grandchildren. Her only son, Richard (Chris) Archibald; oldest daughter, Debi (Charlie) Macisaac; twins, Lori (Paul) Archibald, and Lynn (Tim) Maher; grandchildren, Devin (Jenn), Lindsay (Adam), Jason (Megan), Jeffrey (Jessica), Nicole (Matt), James, Heidi (Lucas), Rachel (Andrew) and Brennan; great-grandchildren, Kassidy, Elias and Aurora, and former son-in-law, Rick Proulx. She's also survived by her sister, Shirley (Harvey) Myatt and her brother, Blaine (Marion) Mackay. Mom loved dogs more than flowers, so donations to an animal rescue or charity of your choice are preferable. We're fortunate to have Ivan Gregan officiating a service on Friday the 13th at 2 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth with a reception to follow. Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Friends and family are welcome. Until we meet again Mom/nannie/g.g . ... we love you.
