BARTEAUX, Robert Lindsay "Bob"

The family of Robert “Bob” Barteaux announces the death of a brother and uncle. Bob passed away in Echo Village, Port Alberni, B.C. April 7, 2022. Bob was born in Middleton, June 11, 1946 and upon graduation from a cytology program in Halifax he moved to British Columbia, and this Nova Scotian son never looked back, making his home permanentl­y on the West Coast. He retired from a long, proud career with the BC Cancer Agency and purchased a home in the town of Port Alberni where he had been an active volunteer with Emergency Social Services, Pacific Rim Health Service Co-op, Ty Watson Hospice House, and Alberni Valley Hospice Society to name a few. Bob loved to chat and enjoyed socializin­g with members of his church. His interests included genealogy, photograph­y and travel and he particular­ly loved Canada’s North, returning there many times. He is predecease­d by his parents, Robert Lindsay Barteaux and Fay Evangeline (Taylor); his brother-inlaw, Paul Slauenwhit­e. He is survived by his sister, Pauline Slauenwhit­e (Barteaux) of Lawrenceto­wn; nephews,, Stephen (Robin) Slauenwhit­e of Lawrenceto­wn, and Mark (Katia) Slauenwhit­e of Woodville, and niece, Dawn (Ted) Giles of Comox, B.C. He had a grand niece and several grand nephews. As per his wishes he is to be cremated and his ashes will be returned to Fairview Cemetery, Lawrenceto­wn, in the Annapolis Valley.
