COTTER, Elizabeth “Betty”

Age 87 of Halifax passed peacefully on May 17, 2022, holding hands with her daughter, always by her side. Born October 23, 1934 in Corner Brook N.L. she was a daughter of the late Allen and Elizabeth Colbourne. Betty was a loving partner and Mother, Sister and Aunt. She helped run family Printing Business, worked at Eatons, Shoppers, Zellers. Betty was a member of St. Andrew's parish, Bells music group. She enjoyed Rummoli games with friends, crafting, TCM shows, shopping days with Wendy, always a new purse needed and purchased. Betty is survived by daughters, Shelly Pinsent, St. John's, N.L.; Wendy (Jody) Cotter, Halifax; son, Roger Cotter, Massachuse­tts; sisters, Nellie Brake, N.L.; Joan Davis, Ontario; Ruth (Darryl) Cook; brothers, George Colbourne, N.L.; Ted (Caroline) Colbourne; several nieces and nephews who adored her. She was predecease­d by her husband, James Cotter; brothers, Reginald, Gerald and Roger Colbourne. Flowers would be appreciate­d, always loved her vase full. Donations may be made to Arborstone Enhanced Care, Alzheimer’s Society or charity of choice. A Celebratio­n of Life service will be held Saturday, May 28th, 10 a.m.– 12 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. Rev Katherine Bourbonnie­re officiatin­g.
