MORRIS, Stewart B(

-

It is with the deepest of sadness that the family announces the sudden, peaceful passing of Stewart Morris 86, Stellarton. on May 20, 2023 in Aberdeen Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Stewart was born in North Sydney, the son of the late Mary (Dolimont) and Riley Morris. To know Stewart was to know a man of integrity, warmth and humor, with the ability to make you feel at ease and special. We will all miss those bear hugs, his wonderful smile, his infectious laughter, his jokes and his stories.

Stewart was born in North Sydney and grew up in a large and loving family. As a young person he was interested in people, places, boats, and animals. He loved exploring his neighbourhood and his town, especially the waterfront. He was energetic, and earned money doing many odd jobs as a youngster. As a young man he worked on a bread truck, delivered milk and fished lobster, and gave a hand to anyone who needed it.

Stewart moved to Stellarton where he took a welding course and worked at that trade on the waterfront in Lunenburg. Following his marriage to Teresa and the birth of son, Tony, he travelled west to Calgary, AB, where he worked in construction and for an Oil and Gas company.

Nova Scotia called them back after four years in Calgary. A career of many years followed with Scotsburn Dairy from where he retired to do other things he loved. Spending many hours on the water, fishing with friends, neighbours and relatives. Travelling to warmer climates was another love, and in the company of sister and brother-inlaw, Angela and Gerald Swallow, Teresa and Stewart spent many happy days in the sun and of course, met new people along the way. Stewart was a very proud chauffeur for the Stellarton Royals Junior Hockey Team for a number of years. He loved being with the team, many of whom became friends for life. He also loved cats and dogs and always had one or the other, sometimes both, these pets trained him well. He was a die hard, hopeful Maple Leafs fan all his life.

Stewart is survived by his wife, Teresa (Mckinnon); daughter, Jennifer (Kevin Dee); granddaughter, Bryden Mcguigan (Kyle Cyr); grandson, Tony Mcguigan (Karlee Martin) Kentville; brother, Jack Morris (Marlyn) Balls Creek; sister, Sarah O’toole (Stan) Bras d’or; brother-in-law, Gary Peverille, Liverpool; sisters-in-law, Anne Morris and Gertrude Slade North Sydney; brothers-in-law, Gerald Swallow, Ottawa, ON; Ian Mckinnon, Calgary; Greg Mckinnon (Kimberly); sister-in-law, Mary Ellis (Robert), Fredericton NB.

Stewart was predeceased by his only son, Tony; brothers, Kenneth, Richard (Dick), Stephen (Junior); sisters, Margaret Taylor, Madelyn Ross, Frances Wale, Arthena Peverille; mother and mother-in-law, Doris (Coady); father-in-law, John A Mckinnon; brothers-in-law, James Mckinnon (Jim), John Mckinnon, Tony Mckinnon, Clifford Taylor, Mike Ross, Barry Wale; sister-in-law, Angela Swallow.

Teresa has lost her loving partner in life, Jennifer has lost her “Rock” and biggest fan Bryden and Tony have lost Poppy, their Super Hero Terrace Avenue has lost a good neighbour (the king at the top of the hill) His many nieces and nephews have lost their amazing, fun loving uncle. We, who knew him have lost someone very special, but we have memories of a man who made the world a better place, because he was in it. Stewart has donated his body to Dalhousie Medical School. There will be no services at Stewart’s request.
