-

March 25, 1925 – May 27, 2023. Age 98, of Milton Highlands, passed away on May 27, 2023 in the Yarmouth Hospital with her loving family by her side. Born in Pinkney’s Point, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Rose Emma (Melanson) Surette. Mom worked hard all of her life to help provide for her family. In the 60’s she was an entrepreneur being the co owner and operator of the Flintstone’s Car Hop which was the very first Car Hop in Yarmouth. Mom loved her family dearly. We all looked forward to Gram’s rappie pie and fried clams as they were the very best. Her cottage on the lake in Summerville was where she was most happy to spend time with her family and friends. She was the most generous and caring mother and grandmother and will be sorely missed. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Cory) Cook, Chebogue; sister, Leona Jorstad, Ontario; grandchildren, Bryon Fevens, Calgary; Jeffery (Jennifer) Fevens, Fredericton; Riley (Samantha) Cook, Summerville; great-grandsons, Schyler Fevens and Benjamin (Kristen) Fevens, both of Ottawa. She was predeceased by her husband, William Letteney; daughter, Sandy Fevens; sisters, Angela, Christina, Freda, Doris, Marion, Emily, Anita and Elizabeth “Betty”; brothers, Roy, Arthur, Donald, Ronald, Delmer, Edward, Arnold and Clarence. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Yarmouth. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 1st in Saint Ambrose Co-cathedral Catholic Church, Yarmouth, Father Henry Smolenaars officiating. There will be no visitation.
