Passed away peacefully on February 19, 2024 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Comeauvill­e on April 3, 1949, she was predecease­d by her husband of 53 years, the Honourable Gerald Comeau (retired Senator) on December 4, 2023; and her parents, Denis and Rosemarie (Melanson) Geddry. Aurore is survived by her sister, Leonice (Clarence); brother, Emery (Elaina); three nieces, Karen, Danielle, and Suzanne; great niece and nephews, Hilary, Connor, Logan and Raphael; in-laws, Paul (Clara), Laura (Lewis), Irene, Judy (Pierre) and Donnie. Following completion of high school studies and marriage to her sweetheart, Gerald, they settled in Moncton for completion of his university studies. Aurore worked at various jobs to support both of them. Her jobs included secretaria­l work at Moncton Civic Hospital and Air Canada. After returning to their beloved Clare, Aurore worked at the Royal Bank in both Meteghan and Church Point. After this, she worked at Universite Sainte Anne for over twenty years as a residence manager, but primarily as administra­tive assistant to the President. Outside of her formal employment, she worked tirelessly to support her husband, Gerald, during his political career both as an MP and as a Senator for a period of twenty-three years. A great team! Arrangemen­ts have been entrusted to Meteghan Funeral Home. A public graveside service will be held in Sacré-coeur Cemetery on Saturday, March 2nd at 11a.m. No flowers by request. Memorial donations may be made to the Sacred Heart Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Dr. Gisele Dugas and Dr. Eissa, as well as the caring staff of the Yarmouth Regional Hospital ICU, family and friends for their care and support of Aurore at this difficult time.
