MACISAAC, Mary

Age 93, of Dartmouth, passed away February 13, 2024, at home. Born in Little Judique, she was a daughter of the late John and Annie (Maclean) Macisaac. Mary was a loving mother, grandmothe­r and great-grandmothe­r. She loved gatherings, where friends and family looked forward to her delicious cooking and baking, but most of all, her smiles and laughter. She loved travelling back to Cape Breton visiting family, playing scrabble and other games. Mary was a very social, positive and energetic woman. She worked at Dartmouth Vocational School, student services, where she made many lifelong friends. While working full time and raising her family, she also took many courses, as well as teaching sewing. Mary was a talented seamstress, knitter, quilter, and rug hooker. She was a long-time member of the Rug Hooking Guild of N.S. Mary is survived by her children, Pamela (Jim) Smith, Madonna Stanfield, Kenneth (Ginette) Hurst, Wayne (Leslie) Hurst, Elizabeth (Daniel) Jaworski; grandchild­ren, Lisa, Kelly, Ashley, Jennifer, Andrew, Kate and Jane; great-grandchild­ren, Jordan, Taylor, Ewan, Lillie, Stella, Charlotte, Charles, Mikah, June and Ivy. She was predecease­d by her thirteen siblings; sisters, Annie, Margaret, Sadie, Christina, Rachel and Theresa; brothers, John R., Joseph, Donald, David, Ronald, Ben, and Jerry; and son-in-law, Charles. Mary will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by family and friends. Cremation has taken place. A celebratio­n of her life will be held Wednesday, February 28, at 11 a.m. at Saint Peters Catholic Church in Dartmouth. Reception to follow at Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St. Dartmouth.
