BRENNAN, Stan

-

Age 70 of Dartmouth, NS, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024, after a long courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Stan is survived by his son, Mark (Sandra); daughter, Tina; sisters, Cathy (Jim), Lorna; dear grandchildren, Luke, Maddie, Jace, and Liam; and seven special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Beryl and Frank Brennan; and brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Nancy Brennan. Stan spent his early life in Bridgewater running his own high performance automotive business, Stan’s Speed Shop, for many years and operated various automotive businesses after that. Racing was a passion for Stan and he was wellknown in the drag racing circuit, winning many trophies. At the age of 40, he took on the new challenge of living and coping with Multiple Sclerosis, facing his daily struggles with grace and dignity for over three decades, with his wit and humour always on full display. Stan was forever kind and caring of others and ready with a compliment. He loved a good card game or going out for special treats like nachos and potato skins, but he loved his family most of all. The family would like to thank the staff at Admiral Long term Care Facility. Stan deeply cared for the staff looking after him, especially for the kindness they bestowed on him during the many years he resided there. Stan was also grateful for the comradeship of his good friend Jim Swinimer. We are grateful for the years that Stan was present in our lives and will deeply miss our kind and loving father, brother and friend. Stan’s final wishes were donation of his body to the Dalhousie Department of Neuroscience. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: https://mscanada.ca/multiplesclerosis-scientific-researchfoundation or a charity of your choice.
