It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brenda Ann Debaie, age 74, on February 26, 2024. Brenda was born September 8, 1949 in Debaie's Cove to the late Lawrence Debaie and Ella (Miller) Debaie. Brenda's passions were her pets, flowers and sports. Her backyard blooms were no doubt the envy of the neighborho­od and her home was always filled with her pets that she so loved: Ernie, Booboo, Misty, Gigi, Dumb Dumb, T.J, Nikki, Toby, Sparky, Samson, Barney, Maxx, Chelsea, Dusty and Mickey. Brenda enjoyed taking her dogs on daily walks. She enjoyed tole painting, gardening and time with her family. As an avid baseball fan, she would be glued to the TV during playoff season as she cheered for her Blue Jays. She was an avid reader and with her spectacula­r memory made her a formidable trivia and Jeopardy player. Brenda worked for 41 years with the Canadian Government, with a significan­t portion as a Staffing Clerk with the Canadian Coast Guard. She sponsored many children over the world through World Vison and numerous charities. Brenda is survived by her son Scott, her sisters Elva (Donnie), Linda, Sandra, Mavis, Marlene, Darlene, Wendy, Rita (Darcy), Deborah and Judith; brothers Roger (Teresa), Mark (Chrisie), Maynard (Tina), and Bradley; and many cherished nieces and nephews. Brenda was predecease­d by common law spouse, Carl Naugler; brothers Raymond, Reginald, John and Myles; and sisters Phyllis, Irene and Nola. Cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, March 8th at Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, burial in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens with a reception to follow.
