Age 87 of Meteghan, formerly of Church Point, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024. Born in Church Point, he was a son of the late William James and Marie Rose (Robichaud) Flynn. Willie was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predecease­d by his beloved wife, Joyce; siblings, Norman, Larry, Raymond, Lucille Blinn, Therese Leblanc, Margaret Melanson. He is survived by his three children, Derek (Denise) Flynn, Corberrie; Cheryl (Kristen) d’entremont, Lower West Pubnico; Jill (Charles) Flynn-comeau, Meteghan; grandchild­ren, Patrick Flynn, Chloe d’entremont and Christian Comeau. Willie was a hard-working man who was honored at retirement for his 40+ years of dedication to the constructi­on industry. A welder by trade, he retired from Strescon Ltd. in 2001 and missed his work until the time of his passing. In his retirement, he enjoyed playing cards with his many friends and spending time in his family’s apple orchard. He was passionate about baseball, especially the Toronto Blue Jays, and loved to watch hockey games, particular­ly if it involved his grandchild­ren. He was their number one fan. He was known for his clam râpure and feeding you far too much of it at the kitchen table. He was a devoted, loyal family man who will be dearly missed. The family wishes to express their appreciati­on to Au Logis d’meteghan’s staff for their compassion and care. Special thanks to his friend, Anne Scoville, for her companions­hip and support. Arrangemen­ts have been entrusted to Meteghan Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, March 9th, at 10 a.m., in Stella Maris Church, Meteghan, with Rev. Hospice Akoffodji officiatin­g. Burial will be at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Church Point. Donations in Willie’s memory may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation.
