It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Ann Louise Cook, 84, of Bridgewate­r, announce her passing on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Valley Hospice, Kentville. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Victor and Muriel (Conrad) Hubley. Mary Ann spent her working life at Riverport Seafood’s where she was employed as the payroll clerk up until her retirement in 1994. She loved to knit, crochet and enjoyed the occasional game of Bingo. She also had one of the most beautiful flower gardens in the neighbourh­ood, a labour of love she continued even after her move to Bridgewate­r, just on a somewhat smaller scale. Mary Ann is survived by her daughters, Kathryn (Steven) Boyd, Bridgewate­r, Cindy (Donald) Whynot, Lower Lahave; son, Steven (Sarah Jane) Siteman, Lower Rose Bay; grandchild­ren, Melanie, Natalie, Jonathan, Rachelle; many great-grandchild­ren; sister, Joan (David) Johnston, Halifax; brother, David Hubley, Chatsworth, ON, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predecease­d by her husband, Donald “Michael’ Cook and greatgrand­son, William. Funeral arrangemen­ts entrusted to the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy #3, Lunenburg. A memorial service to celebrate Mary Ann’s life will be held at Bridgewate­r Baptist Church, Bridgewate­r on Thursday, March 28 at 1 p.m. Pastor Aaron Kenney officiatin­g. Interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to Bridgewate­r Baptist Church, Valley Hospice or a charity of your choice would be appreciate­d by the family.
