LEBOEUF (Ferris), Marguerite
Marguerite passed away peacefully at Northwood centre on Monday March 4, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family. Marg was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, a daughter of the late Neil and Mary (Corbege) Ferris. As an older sibling, Marg was very caring of the younger children and influential in helping them to make the decision for their future careers. The family had a small grocery store, which Marg operated. When the store closed as sister in Halifax encouraged Marg to come to Halifax. Marg did, an enrolled in the secretarial program, eventually working for Jack Fry (Accountant), the Marg of Dimes and the Halifax School board, from which she retired. Along the way, she met Gilles Leboeuf, who was from Montreal. They married and had 30 happy years together until his death in 2002. During their years together, they travelled extensively, with trips to London, and many winters in Portugal, Spain, Myrtle beach and Florida. Marg had a close relationship with her brother and sisters, who frequently turned to her for advice. Marg had no children, but embraced her nieces and nephews, whom she dearly loved. Marg was a very talented craft person, she created many beautiful pieces, which she shared with her family and friends. She was a beautiful baker, and her carrot cake was always a hit with her family and working place. Survived by her sister, Gloria Ferris (John Cunningham) and Carmel Holgate (Bud); many special nieces and nephews and their families; friends, Joan and Marj who were friends for over 65 years. Predeceased by husband, Gilles Leboeuf (2002); Mansoura (Monnie) Abbass, Marie Lowe (Don), sister, Veronica (Bonnie) Ferris, Bernard (Buddy) Ferris, Joseph Ferris and Veronica Abbass (Niece). A Celebration of Life date and time to be determined at a later date. In Lieu of Flowers, memorial donations may be made to Northwood Foundation or the charity of your choice. A special thank you to 3C at Northwood Centre for the wonderful care during the last 10 months of Marg’s life.
