It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfathe­r and greatgrand­father Robert Bruce Hendren (89), on March 4, 2024. Bob was born on March 4, 1935 in Peterborou­gh, ON, to Victor and Eva Hendren. In the 1950s he joined the navy and when posted in Halifax, he met the love of his life, Lorraine Reyno and they married in November 1956. Bob was a dedicated family man who loved to spend time with his children, grandchild­ren, great-grandchild­ren and family and friends. Bob and Lorraine spent many summers in Hubbards and enjoyed the trailer life there. He was a talented woodworker and could create beautiful items ranging from rocking horses for his grandchild­ren to homes the family lived in. Bob loved all animals and had many throughout his life but he particular­ly loved their little sheltie Teddy. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine. He was predecease­d by brothers, Sherwood, Jack, Jim, Elwood, Donald and Ted. Bob leaves behind his family to carry on his legacy: son, Garnet (Sandra); son, Blair (Christine); daughter, Carolyn (Robert); son, Scott (Karin); grandchild­ren, Jeffrey, Jennifer, Christophe­r, Nicholas, Jacob and Alexander; great-grandchild­ren, Sierra, Cadince and Ivy. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 18, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax, NS. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place in St. Benedict Parish on Tuesday, March 19, at 10 a.m. Condolence­s may be made by visiting: www.atlanticfu­neralhomes.com

Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation. The family gives heartfelt thanks to the staff in Unit 8.4 of the QEII Hospital for the care and compassion that they gave to their father.
