ROMKEY-DEVEAU, Barbara Ann

-

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of a dear sister and friend Barbara Ann Romkey-deveau on March 6, 2024 at the age of 74 in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII with loved ones by her side.

Born on September 20, 1950 Barbara was a dog lover, her latest beloved dog Jay went everywhere with her. She enjoyed many weekends camping and doing archery. She was involved with the red hatters. She was a wonderful baker and could make a pineapple square everyone would crave. Barbara was full of spunk, she was a fashion-ista with her different hats and jewelry that she would find while thrift shopping with her dear friend Nancy and Barbara Kilgar. She was not one to hold back, she was a stirring woman and will be missed dearly by all her many friends and family.

She was the daughter of the late Charles (Ernest) and Nettie (Harrington) Romkey. She was the wife of the late Raymond Deveau. Barbara is survived by her brothers Wayne Romkey (Marilyn) John Romkey (Paulette), both of Eastern Passage. She was predeceased by her brother Vernon; Sisters, Doris, Marilyn, and Diane.

As per Barbara’s request there will be no visitation or service at this time.

Service will be held at St. Peters Anglican Church, Eastern Passage where she and late husband Raymond will be laid to rest together in the church cemetery. Date and time will be announced when arrangements are finalized.

A special thanks to Northwood Nursing Home (3 Centre) in Halifax for their kindness and impeccable care, to Dartmouth Funeral Home for their services and outstanding help. To Nancy Macdonald her lifelong friend who stayed devoted to her after Raymond passed with loving care and helping her through her journey with Parkinson’s disease.
