Age 101, of Lakewood Road, Steam Mill, Kings County, passed away Friday, March 8, 2024, at the Evergreen Home for Special Care. Born in Berwick, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Elizabeth (Wheaton) Turner. She grew up in Sackville, New Brunswick, finishing high school and then attending Mount Allison University there. She worked for a short time at the Airplane Plant office in Amherst, Nova Scotia, after which she moved to the Valley to work at Acadia University. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn (Don) Hill, New Minas; son, Bruce (Gina), Halifax; grandchild­ren, Zita Macdow and Raya Macdow Delaney; Nathan, Sarah, and Chloe Wilson; and great-grandchild­ren, Pheida and Nora Delaney. She was predecease­d by her eldest daughter, Donna Macdow in 1987; and husband, Donald in 2016. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 15, from White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiatin­g. A livestream link will be made available for all those who are unable to attend. Burial will take place at a later date in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to the VON Nova Scotia or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for all of the superb care and kindness that was shown to her by everyone at Evergreen Home during her stay there, especially for always keeping her special corner by the window available for her. It was over four years ago, but many thanks also to the Doctors and Nurses at Valley Regional, especially the Medical B Extension staff who cared for her.
