Passed away on March 12, 2024, at the Villa St. Joseph du Lac, at the age of 99, a few months before her 100th birthday. She was born in Springdale, NS, on June 15, 1924, to the late Amy (Wood) and Alfred Dalton. She married Borden Thompson on June 19, 1943, and they had two children, Conroy and Patricia. Amy was a faithful wife, mother, and homemaker. She enjoyed her home times with family and friends, picnics, and outings. In her older years, she spent many enjoyable hours listening to music, watching T.V. programs, or working on jigsaws and word search puzzles. She was a Port Maitland Bayview Baptist Church member and later a member of Beaver River Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Conroy; grandson, Jay; great-grandson, Zachary; and greatgrand­daughter, Avery, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Amy was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was predecease­d by her husband, Borden; daughter, Patricia; and 12 siblings: Vernon, William, Edward, Lawrence, Reginald, Ernest, Anna, Esther, Dorothy, and three in infancy. Funeral arrangemen­ts have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematoriu­m, Yarmouth. A funeral service will be held Monday, March 18, at 2 p.m. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Keith Moore officiatin­g. A visitation will be held one hour before the service. Following the service, a reception will be held at Jacob’s Loft Event Center above Sweeny’s Funeral Home. Donations in memory may be made to the N.S.
