RICHARDS, Kenneth Harold

-

On Sunday, March 17, 2024, our courageous father Ken passed away peacefully with family by his side at the age of 75. Born in Halifax, NS, he was the son of the late Harold and Leona. He is reuniting with his loving wife and best friend Paula. Proud Father of Kimberley (Mother – Simone), Jillian (Chris), and Stephen (Anastasia). Beloved Grandad to Isabelle, Avery, Charli, and Noah. Devoted brother of Sandie (Ronnie), Joanne (Ralph), Mike (Brenda), Jimmy (Valerie), Harold (Lorrie), and Tony (Kelly), and pre-deceased by Christine. Dear brother-in-law of Judi, Janet (Buz), and Paul (Angie) as well as the late CJ (Karen), late Donnie (Claire), and late Maureen. Known as Uncle Kenny to his MANY nieces and nephews, he will surely be missed by his extended family who he went to visit every summer in Nova Scotia. Ken made many friends throughout his experiences at Royal Bank, Slopitch, and Deerfield, and across three provinces; Nova Scotia, Quebec, and Ontario. Over the past few years, he spent his winter months in Florida at Carefree where he met many new friends that became his extended family, and he became their Grumpy Grampy. If you ever shared a project with Ken, you’ll remember him for his leadership and list making. If you ever shared a drink, you’ll remember that he was always up for a good time. And if you ever shared a round of golf, you’ll remember that he was a great golf partner and a highly competitive golf opponent. His wit and his humour will live on through Kennyisms that will be retold time and time again. We’ve been honoured to spend quality time with Dad. He cherished family above all else. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Helen Pyle, and Nurse Diane for fulfilling Dad’s wish to die with grace and dignity. As an expression of sympathy in lieu of flowers, Ken has asked that donations be made to: dyingwith dignity.ca or to Scleroderma Atlantic. As per Ken’s wishes, a private cremation has taken place, and no formal services will be held.
