Logan, Thurber win metro league MVP awards
Olivia Logan and Mason Thurber are this year's metro high school basketball league most valuable players.
Logan plays for the Halifax West Warriors girls' team and Thurber is a member of the three-time defending provincial boys' champion C.P. Allen Cheetahs. Logan's teammate Ava Macnutt was the girls' defensive player of the year and CPA'S Ruhi Choi was the rookie of the year.
Donovan Reid of the Millwood Knights won the Bob Douglas defensive player of the year award on the boys' side and Armbrae's Travae Jones and Citadel's Travarius Carvery were co-rookies of the year. CPA'S Steve Harris was the coach of the year.
C.P. Allen will host an all-star doubleheader on Wednesday. The girls' game is at 5:30 p.m., followed by the boys' game at 7:30 p.m.

Ilsley), Jada Awalt and Ines Alias (Sackville) and Evie Hargraves and Violet Langille (Cole Harbour).
