Age 84 years, Halifax, NS, passed away in Melville Lodge, Halifax, on March 29, 2024. Born in Alberton, PEI on January 10, 1940. Len was the oldest of 14 children of Neil Praught and Grace Callaghan. Len graduated from Chemical Engineerin­g in 1962 from NSTC in Halifax. His Engineerin­g career spanned 43 years and took him to Sarnia, ON; Glace Bay, NS; St. Bruno, QC; Rimbey, AB; Ahwaz, Iran; Calgary, AB; Bontang, Indonesia; Paris, France; and Alexandria, Egypt. Len’s interests included genealogy research, curling, playing hockey, golf, and Bridge. Survived by son, Timothy (Viola), Fort Mcmurray, AB; daughters, Lesley (Dana) Deamel, Lower Sackville; and Carla, Lawrenceto­wn; siblings, Jim, Donna (Danny) Levesque, Eleanor (Doug) Schwaluk, Marcella, Ginny (Fred) Dainard, Pauline Dugay, Anne Munn, Ivan, Dennis, Dorothy Vincent, Stacy (Ed) Blagdon; grandchild­ren, Joshua Fleming, Jenifer Fleming, Abigail Praught, Samuel Praught, Emily Praught, and Daniel Praught; step grandchild­ren, Elisha Deamel-tingley, Chris Deamel; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predecease­d by wife, Nora (Fenton); and siblings, Gordon and Connie Miller. The family would like to thank the staff at Melville Lodge for looking after Len. Len will be cremated, and his memorial service will be held on Friday, April 5 at 2 p.m. in J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax, with Rev.
