MORRISON (Long), Marjorie Mildred

On April 7, 2024, Marjorie Morrison passed away in Halifax. Marjorie was born in Toronto, on October 20, 1922, the first of three children born to William J. and Marjorie (Murney) Long. She married Ian Spence Morrison on June 18, 1943 and was widowed when her husband, a veterinary doctor in Simcoe, ON was killed in a car accident in 1959. From this point onward Marjorie dedicated herself to raising her three sons. She bought a home in Burlington, ON in 1964, the year her youngest began kindergart­en, her middle son began junior high and her eldest began high school. In 1999 Marjorie moved to Halifax where she enjoyed watching her youngest grandchild­ren grow up. Marjorie was a woman of deep faith, who relied upon and experience­d the faithful guidance and help of God throughout her life. She leaves her sons and their wives, David and Linda of White Rock, BC, Paul and Gail of Whistler, BC and Ian and Barbara of Halifax, and six grandchild­ren, Kaleb (Erin Flegg), Kerry, Ian, Andrew, Julia (Tim Mombourque­tte) and Kathleen, her sister Audrey, as well as several nieces, a nephew and two great-grandchild­ren. Marjorie was 101 years of age with a sharp mind and a generous spirit. Special thanks to the staff of Princess Lane of Parkstone Enhanced Care for their generous, kind and loving care and support. There will be a service of celebratio­n and commital to honour Marjorie’s memory in Toronto at a future date.
