WALSH, Sharron Nedene

-

It is with great sadness we announce that our mom, Sharron Nedene (Atwell) Walsh, 80, of Gaspereau, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Sharron was born in Wolfville, February 21, 1944 to the late Colin and Marion (Jordan) Atwell. Sharron worked at Acadia University (Book Store) and helped numerous students throughout the years. Her pride and joy was her family and spending time together, whether it be at ‘the camp’, snowmobiling or camping. She will be greatly missed for her baking, especially for her homemade bread, pies and jams. Mom has now joined the love of her life, Dad (Doug) and we find peace in knowing they are together now. She will be deeply missed by her proud and loving children, Timbol (Lance) Harris, Scott Walsh (Lisa Beckwith) and Marvin Walsh; her devoted grandchildren, Nicholas (Courtney) Harris, Olivia (Jagar) Millett, Parker Walsh and Lily Walsh; great-grandchildren, Ava and Savannah Harris, and Hunter Millett; sisters, Joyce Nowlan, Sandy (Brian) Tenneyson, Teresa (Robert) Edwards; brotherin-law, Philip Long; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Doug Walsh (October 2023); sisters and brothers-in-law, Jo (Jack) Colson, Geneva Long, Colleen Hovell and June (Ernie) Morine. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Valley Regional Hospital, Med A, doctors, nurses, staff and EHS paramedics who provided exceptional care for Sharron. A very special thanks to her cousin, Necia for all of her love and unwavering support. In keeping with Sharron’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or formal funeral service. All are invited to a Celebration of Life from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, April 21st, in the Gaspereau Community Centre. Burial will take place in Gaspereau Cemetery, at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (via cheque indicating “The Lodge That Gives” on the memo line mailed to: 5826 South Street, Halifax, NS B3H 1S6 or through the Donor Care Line: 1-888-939-3333).
