He was predeceased by his wife Joan, parents Carmond and Maisie, and brothers Ron and Gerald. Lloyd is survived by his devoted daughters, Heather (Rick), Jennifer (Nick), Suzanne (chosen daughter Kathy); grandson, Chris; and sister, Phyllis (Bill). He studied at Mount Allison University, majoring in English and History, and worked railway in the summers across Canada. After graduation, he started his career as Curator of the Saint John Museum. He realized teaching was his calling and taught and held principal roles throughout Canada. He was an accomplished writer, authoring for several years, a family column in the Halifax Herald. A self-described gypsy, he lived in NS, NB, QC., ON., AB., and BC. In retirement, he travelled in China and Europe. He was a lifetime learner and enjoyed Tai Chi and painting, and took writing, singing and piano lessons in his 80’s. He was active and established many friendships in Tsawwassen, his home for these past 10 years. He taught us the importance of being present, spending time in nature, and keeping current with international news and politics. He had a great sense of humour, a warm smile and a kind word for anyone fortunate to spend time with him. He was immensely proud of his family and had great affection for his daughters. The family is grateful for the care provided by Doctors Shaw, Constantine, Martin and the staff at View Medical and for the kindness shown by staff at the Delta and RC Hospitals. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday May 4, 2024, at 11 a.m. at All Saints’ Church Tsawwassen; 4755 Arthur Drive; Delta, BC, V4K 2X6.
