CAMPBELL, Wendy Louise

-

It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Wendy Louise Campbell, 61, of Lower Sackville, after a short illness. We will miss Wendy’s gentle disposition and her special laugh, always with the little “tsk” at the start. She was quiet but in a thoughtful and intentional way. She was patient especially when it came to shopping, and giving decorating or organizing advice. She was headstrong and independent as evidenced by the fact that she bought her first vehicle even before she got her driver’s license later in life. Her easygoing nature made her a pleasure to be around, for family and friends alike. She took great comfort and joy spending time at the homestead in Red Islands and at Gary’s family cottage in Port Howe. Wendy is best described as kind, sweet, loving, honest and loyal. She was a great dessert maker but her famous Aero bar squares will go down in history as the best. Gary will forever treasure his “Little Goose” and the life they built together. A devoted employee of CIBC for 35 years, Wendy retired in May 2023, having developed many friendships along the way. Wendy is survived by “her rock” Gary Greenhow, step-children Kayla and Gary, mother Fran Campbell, siblings Debbie (Ben), Bradley (Ann), Gary (Debby), Patricia (Gerard), Marty (Karen), Verna, Doug (Clarita), Johnnie (Dauphne), Lisa, Glen (Elaine) and Angela (Kevin). She is also survived by father-in-law Ron Greenhow, brother-in-law Paul (Angela), 17 adoring nieces and nephews, and her precious 15 great nieces and nephews. Her beloved pup, sidekick and shadow Bailey will miss her terribly. She was predeceased by her father Hugh Campbell and mother-in-law Linda Greenhow. Special thank you to the medical teams at Cobequid Community Health Centre and the QEII Health Sciences Centre, who were compassionate in their care of our Wendy, and to her dear friend Karen who provided nourishment for her body and soul. Per Wendy’s wishes cremation has taken place with a private family service planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, those interested can make a donation to a charity of their choice. While Wendy may have loved to decorate a room, she decorated our lives with quiet elegance, grace, laughter and love. Until we meet again, we will always raise some Cabot Trail in your honour.
