Age 96, of Steam Mill, Kings Co., passed peacefully in Grand View Manor in Berwick on Thursday, November 28, 2019. She was a daughter of the late Rena (Wood) and Henry Richardson. Mom and her beloved sister, Clara Crandall, were brought up by their maternal grandparen­ts, Justina and Kelsey Wood, of Glenmont. Mom was a full-time homemaker who loved her family to the fullest. She was called "Mom" and "Nan" by many outside of her family. She was well-known for her homemade chocolate fudge and sugar doughnuts. In addition to doing her housework, she loved to work outside doing yard work, especially tending her flower beds. She will be sadly missed by her son, Robert Jr. "Bob" (Rose) and daughter, Doreen (Vic) Leopold, both of New Minas; grandchild­ren, Brian, Tammy, Denise, Scott, Dena, Holly, Jamie, Mark, Stephen, Robin and Nick; 15 great-grandchild­ren; 19 great great-grandchild­ren; half-brother, Henry Jr.; and half-sister, Lillian. Edna was predecease­d by her husband, Robert Sr.; sons, Gordon and Lindsay (Rita); infant son, Calvin; stepmother, Marion and half-brother, Bert. There will be no visitation, by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, December 2nd in White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Rev. Ivan Norton officating. Burial will take place in Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to a charity of your choice. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciati­on to the staff on the Ross Unit of Grand View Manor and to all of Mom’s great family and wonderful neighbours over the years while she was still in her own home.
