MacDONALD, Yvonne "Mary"

-

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our loved mother and dearest nanny, Yvonne MacDonald, in Strait Richmond Hospital on Friday, November 29, 2019. Yvonne was born on October 22, 1945, she was a daughter of the late William and Eva (McPhee) Richard (formerly of Hureauville). Yvonne was a proud long-term employee of the Woolco/Walmart family for 39 years. She loved to volunteer and gave back to the community constantly from helping the elderly and being a member of the Strait Richmond Hospital Auxiliary and gift shop. She belonged to the St. Francis de Sales Church, C.W.L. and Club 55. Her grandchildren, Erika and Adam were the joy of her life along with her dog, Mindy. She loved yard sales, meeting people and making a deal made her smile. You would never see her sitting idle without knitting needles in her hands; she warmed the hands and feet of many. Yvonne is survived by her only daughter, Cheryl "Cherie" McNamara, son-in-law, Tom, grandchildren, Erika and Adam all of Enfield; step children, Kim Rafuse, Michael MacKay; brother, Peter Richard; and sisters, Stella (John) MacCormack, Jean (Foster) Ryan, Cecelia (John) MacDonald and Elizabeth (Kennley) MacDonald. She was predeceased by her first husband, Blaise; her forever loving partner, George MacKay; brothers, Henry, Lewis and Raymond Richard. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m., in Green’s Funeral Home, 507 Bernard St., Port Hawkesbury on Wednesday, December 4th.
