CHISHOLM, Susan "Michelle"

-

It is with extreme anguish that the family of Susan "Michelle" Chisholm of North Grant, Antigonish Co., announce her sudden passing on Thursday, November 28, 2019 at the age of 48. Michelle will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Evangeline "Dee Dee" and her siblings, Edward of North Grant; Kevin (Donna) of Edmonton; Wayne (Bea) of New Glasgow; Darryl of Halifax; Linda (David) of Alberta; Betty Lou (Dan) of Halifax and Alastair of North Grant. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and a large extended family that adored her including her "second mom" Theresa Arsenault of North Grant. She will be missed by her fur babies, Sammy, Mick, Mo and Missy. Michelle was predeceased by her father, Maurice; brothers, Dennis and Shawn; sister-in-law, Sarah and grandparents, Wilfred and Jean Arsenault, along with Frank and Mary Chisholm. Michelle grew up in Antigonish and received her undergraduate in Physical Education, as well as her Bachelor of Science and Nursing from St. Francis Xavier University. She continued her studies at Dalhousie University achieving her Masters of Nursing Degree. Working in various positions as a Registered Nurse her last position was Clinical Associate at the St. Francis Xavier University School of Nursing. Her rapport with students, patients and colleagues was somewhat fabled as she was loved by all that crossed her path. Michelle loved her sports and excelled as a distance runner while in St. F.X.; she also loved the Yankees and gardening. She especially enjoyed decorating her parents yard in North Grant for every birthday, anniversary and season. Michelle most significantly will be remembered for her ability to light up the lives of all who entered her domain be it family, friends or complete strangers. Her welcoming demeanour, quick whit, infectious laughter and ravishing smile always left her company uplifted. She left us early but taught us well! Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, December 5th, at 1 p.m. in St. Ninian’s Cathedral, Antigonish, Rev. Donald MacGillivray presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations can be respectfully made to The Shawn Chisholm Memorial Bursary c/o Dr. John Hugh Gillis High School, 105 Braemore Ave., Antigonish, NS B2G 1L3. www.MacIsaacs.ca
