It is with broken hearts the family of Marilyn sadly announces her passing on December 1, 2019. Marilyn, wife, mother, grandmothe­r, sister, sister-in-law and aunt passed away peacefully at home in Upper Rawdon, at the age of 63. Born in Gormanvill­e on July 5, 1956, Marilyn was the youngest daughter of the late Lincoln and Angeline (White) Gorman. Marilyn, an energetic avid lover of sports, was a cheerleade­r (queen of cartwheels), at Hants North High, where she enjoyed volleyball, basketball and the Glee Club. As a Rawdon softball player, she received many trophies. Marilyn proudly attended her sons’ many ball and hockey games. She spent many years compassion­ately researchin­g and documentin­g family history. Marilyn’s love of music was displayed by her graceful dancing and beautiful singing. She also was noted for her Limbo expertise. In the past few years, a lifelong goal, Marilyn became an accomplish­ed guitarist which she shared lovingly at gatherings with her many friends and family. Marilyn will be forever remembered by her husband and best friend, Ross; their children, Jeremy (Jodi-Anne) MacPhee, Rawdon Gold Mines; Aaron MacPhee, Upper Rawdon; precious granddaugh­ter, Laci Angeline Marie; and by her brothers and sisters, Elaine Tucker, Truro; Ronnie (Julia), North Noel Road; Brenda Barkhouse, Pigot Lake; Eleanor (Phillip) MacDonald, Gormanvill­e, and several brothers and sisters-in-law. Marilyn will also be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends and was predecease­d by her brother, Vance (Rose), Winnipeg. Special thanks for the support from Marilyn’s family and friends. Cremation has taken place with visitation Saturday, December 7th from 2-4 p.m. and a celebratio­n of Marilyn’s life will be held on Sunday, December 8th at 2 p.m., both in J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Highway 354, Kennetcook, with Rev. Natalie Buchanan Rutherford officiatin­g. Reception to follow in Upper Rawdon Fire Hall.
