SALTER (Browne), Maureen Lee

On Saturday, December 7, 2019 we, the family of Maureen Lee Salter of Hantsport, lovingly said goodbye to an incredible wife, mother, grandmothe­r, friend, neighbour and community volunteer. She meant the world to us and in turn, she cared so deeply for each of us that her greatest gift was helping us cope with letting her go. Maureen (Browne) was the cherished wife of Carl Salter; devoted and loving mother to Darren Bishop, Amherst; Phillip Bishop, Alberta; Krista (Wayne) Myles, Lockhartvi­lle; and Scott Bishop (Angie Schofield), Amherst. She will also be greatly missed by her stepsons, Fred (Gloria) Salter, Lockhartvi­lle; and Jim (Charmaine) Salter, Bishopvill­e. She was the precious grandmothe­r to her granddaugh­ters, Jenna Lee and Lindsay Gail Myles; grandsons, Cameron and Colin Bishop, Ontario; and step grandchild­ren, Carrie-Lou and Carmen Salter, Macey (Joey) Rolfe, Katrina (Radwin) Zagala, Kailee (Chris) Turnbull, Alison (Günta) Holthoff, Jaimie (Josh) Nelson, Andrew (Chelsea) Salter; three greatgrand­children and 14 step greatgrand­children. Born in Windsor and raised in Falmouth she was very proud of her Irish heritage. Her father, Thomas Browne immigrated from Islandmage­e, Northern Ireland and married her mother, Margaret Helene (Akin) of Falmouth. Maureen was also predecease­d by her brother, Thomas Wayne Browne. Arrangemen­ts have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-7988317), where the family will receive visitors from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, December 13th. A private interment will be held in Centre Falmouth Cemetery, Falmouth. A public memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, December 14th in DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Debra Mosher officiatin­g. A reception will follow in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre. Family flowers only by request.
